Dear HapMap Annoucements list subscriber-

The first release of data from HapMap Phase II is now available.
This release contains data from the initial pilot work in Phase II
covering chromosome 2p. This data complements the previous Phase I
release (16c.1), and full data is available by combining the files.
Future releases in the HapMap project will contain genotypes together
from Phases I and II.

In total, 600,180 new genotype sets are available in this release,
which cover 54,016,200 genotypes.

Summary of genotyped SNPs by population:

                  Genotyped SNPs
Chrom CEU HCB JPT YRI
------------------------------------------------
Chr2p all 200,060 200,060 200,060 200,060
Chr2p QC+ 106,168 108,961 108,947 101,506
------------------------------------------------

It is anticipated that the next major release, with significantly
more genotypes from phase II, will occur in early September.

On behalf of the HapMap Data Coordination Center (DCC) team at
CSHL, best regards.
